Alwin Reamillo is an interdisciplinary artist living and working between Australia and the Philippines.
He began his career as a lecturer in visual arts at the Philippines High School for the Arts. Current 1995, he arrived in Australia and he was admitted to the Master of Fine Arts program at the Western Australia School of Arts.
Reamillo art was born to the interested ideas of mobility, memory and exchange. His practice are ranging from painting, photography, collage and sculpture to mixed media installations to performance and shadow puppetry. His arts is fundamentally rooted in the notions of mobility, travel, migration and cultural identity.
He has done a lot of individual exhibitions and group exhibitions, and he participated at more than 23 Awards and Distinctions (for example, in 1992 he won the first prize of Fifth Cultural Center of the Philippines Alternative Cinema & Video Competition).
