Born in the Philippines and living in Sydney now, Melissa Ramos produces installations and cinematic short films.
She graduated at the University of Westen Sydney Fine Arts & Electronic Arts in 2004.
Melissa Ramos works with time based mediums, in particular the intrinsic nature of time and movement.
Ramos explores stories that confound reality with fiction with an aim to convey a poetic narrative experience.
She has globally collaborated extensively with artists, choreographers, musicians, and performers. Melissa’s ultimate inspiration is to challenge new modes of video art and become an ambassador for the category in Australia, focussing on inspiring others to explore the boundless manifestations of the moving image.
Also, she recently has exhibited her cinematographic work in the USA, Japan, Denmark, Manila, Berlin.
One of her recent work is Merle Lister, a film by Now Collective, Dance film documentary, from 2014.
