Born in the Philippines and living in Sydney now, Robert Nery is a poet, critic, video artist and filmmaker.
He has realized different kind of works ; he was briefly editor of the media art journal Photofile.
Nery has made two documentary essay-films (Black Nazarene and The Beatles Came To Manila), and a 90 minutes essay on Holy Week crucifixions in the Philippines
In 2013, was published his translations of poems by three modern Tagalog poets (Rolando S. Tinio, Jose F. Lacaba & Rio Alma). Also, his essay ‘Translation, Ethnocentrism and Cinema’ appears in Australia and Asia (Cultural Transactions).
