Filipino Film Wins Best Picture at the 27th Bogota Film Festival

The Philippines Embassy in Brasilia reported that Filipino film The Red Shoes was chosen as one of the Best Picture winners at the 27th Bogota Film Festival.
The film festival was held in the Colombian capital from September 29 to October 7.
The movie received the Jurors Recognition Award.
It was the only Asian film among the 16 films competing in the Festival, along with films from the United States, Finland, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

Filipino film ‘Lola’ at the Sydney Film Festival 2010

Western Union and Sinta are proud to share the news that Filipino film “Lola” by acclaimed director Brillante Mendoza has been selected from hundreds of entries to be in the running for the prestigious 2010 Sydney Film Festival Prize.
